Allied Healthcare Services Australia is a registered plan manager working with NDIS participants throughout the Hills District. We hold the paperwork side of your plan – invoices, claims, statements and budget checks – so the administration stops competing with your day.
The Hills District covers a very wide area, and the difference between one end of it and the other is stark. Castle Hill, Bella Vista, Norwest and Kellyville sit on the Sydney Metro corridor with frequent, fully accessible services. Dural, Kenthurst, Glenorie, Annangrove and Maraylya are large-lot rural suburbs with no rail, sparse bus coverage and in many streets no footpath at all.
What NDIS Plan Management Actually Involves
Choosing plan management means the NDIA funds an independent organisation to look after the money side of your plan. Your funding stays yours; we simply become the party that receives invoices, lodges claims and keeps the record straight.
There are three ways an NDIS plan can be administered, and you are entitled to ask for the one that suits you:
- Self-management: You hold the funds, pay providers yourself and claim the money back from the NDIA. Maximum control, maximum paperwork.
- Agency management: The NDIA pays your providers for you, but you can only spend with NDIS-registered organisations.
- Plan management: An independent plan manager pays providers on your behalf, and you keep the freedom to use registered and unregistered providers alike.
Day-to-Day Work We Take Off Your Hands
- Checking invoices: Every invoice is read against your plan and the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements before a cent moves.
- Lodging claims: We submit claims to the NDIA promptly so the correct budget category is drawn down.
- Watching the balances: Category-by-category tracking, with a heads-up from us long before a budget gets tight.
- Plain-English statements: A monthly summary written so it can be read in a couple of minutes, not decoded.
- Answering the awkward questions: Whether a support is claimable, what a price limit means, how much is left – ask us any time during your plan.
Why plan management is worth having in the Hills District Plan management gives you access to unregistered as well as registered providers, which widens the pool of people who can actually support you.
The Hills is the most car-dependent area we work in – there are around two vehicles per dwelling and only a small fraction of homes have no car at all. That sounds like an advantage, but it means services, footpaths and bus routes were never built for people who cannot drive. For a participant in the rural north who does not drive, the practical barrier is not funding, it is distance.
What Working With Us Looks Like
- A check before we begin: We read your plan wording first and raise anything that looks set up incorrectly, rather than discovering it three invoices later.
- Your rules, not ours: Some participants want every invoice confirmed by phone. Others want nothing but the monthly statement. We record your preference at the start and stick to it.
What Is Included
- Direct provider billing: Your providers send invoices straight to us, so you are not chasing paperwork or fronting money.
- Separate category tracking: Each support category is monitored on its own, which stops one area quietly running dry while the total still looks healthy.
- Early spending alerts: If the burn rate is running ahead of your plan dates, you hear about it while there is still room to adjust.
- Reconciled records: Claims are matched against payments so your plan history stays accurate if a review or audit comes around.
Tailored Support Across the Hills District
No two participants use the area the same way, so we start with your address, your travel options and which providers can genuinely get to you, before anything is promised.
The Sydney Metro North West line runs through the middle of the district with stations at Rouse Hill, Kellyville, Bella Vista, Norwest, Hills Showground, Castle Hill and Cherrybrook. Every one of them has lifts, level boarding and platform screen doors, and Kellyville has the largest commuter car park on the line. For participants near the corridor, independent travel is genuinely achievable.
Away from the corridor it is a different area entirely. Windsor Road, Old Windsor Road, Old Northern Road and the M2 carry most of the traffic, and the North West T-way busway runs alongside Windsor Road between Kellyville and Rouse Hill. The rural north and the newer growth estates at Box Hill, Gables and North Kellyville are being occupied faster than services are arriving, so provider travel time is a real constraint on what can be rostered.
- The metro corridor: Castle Hill, Norwest, Bella Vista, Kellyville and Rouse Hill have fully accessible stations and the best provider access in the district.
- Rural and growth-area suburbs: Dural, Kenthurst, Glenorie, Annangrove, Box Hill and Gables involve significant travel, so we are realistic about which days and times can be covered.
Local Accessibility and Community Venues
These are places participants in the area actually use, and knowing how accessible each one is makes the difference between an outing that works and one that gets abandoned at the door.
- Castle Hill Library: The main branch of the Hills library service, in the centre of Castle Hill and close to Castle Towers and the metro station.
- Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre, Baulkham Hills: The council aquatic centre, with a heated 50 metre outdoor pool, an indoor learn-to-swim pool and accessible toilets.
- Equinox Drive Reserve, Box Hill: An accessible nature-themed playground built under the NSW Everyone Can Play program, and the clearest inclusive play facility in the shire.
- Vinegar Hill Memorial Library and Community Centre, Rouse Hill: A combined library and community centre inside Rouse Hill Town Centre, next to the metro station and bus interchange.
- Castle Towers and Rouse Hill Town Centre: The two main retail centres, both connected directly to accessible metro stations, which makes them practical destinations for supported outings.
Hospital and Clinical Transitions
The Hills Shire currently has no public hospital of its own, so residents are served by Westmead, Blacktown and Hawkesbury District hospitals. Westmead is the tertiary referral hospital and a major trauma service, and it hosts one of only three adult inpatient brain injury rehabilitation units in New South Wales. A new public hospital is under construction at Rouse Hill and will bring emergency, inpatient, outpatient and maternity services into the district. Norwest Private and Lakeview Private hospitals also operate locally.
How We Help After a Hospital Stay
The first few weeks after discharge are usually the hardest. New providers start at once, equipment arrives, appointments stack up and nobody has the full picture. We take the parts we can carry.
- Getting supports running quickly while the discharge plan is still fresh.
- Keeping the paperwork straight while several new providers come on board at the same time.
- Reducing the administrative load on families who are already adjusting to a changed routine.
How Plan Management Is Paid For
Plan management is funded from its own line item under Capacity Building – Improved Life Choices. It sits alongside your other funding rather than eating into it, so the supports you rely on every week are untouched.
| Funding Feature | What It Means for You |
|---|---|
| Its own budget line | Plan management funding is allocated separately and added to your plan. |
| Core supports untouched | Personal care, household assistance and community participation budgets are not reduced to pay for it. |
| Nothing out of pocket | Fees are claimed against the NDIS line item. Participants are not billed personally. |
| Usually simple to request | Asking for plan management at a planning meeting rarely requires specialist reports. |
| Can be added mid-plan | A minor plan variation can introduce plan management without a full reassessment. |
Plan Management in Practice
A Familiar Situation
A participant living in Kellyville uses four providers – a morning support worker, a physiotherapist, a transport service and a weekend group. Invoices arrive by email, by post and on monthly statements, at different times of the month. Six months in, nobody in the household can say with confidence how much Core funding is left.
How We Handle It
| Step | Action | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Invoices come to us | One inbox instead of five. Providers bill us directly and the paper trail stays in one place. |
| 2 | We check, then claim | Each invoice is verified against your plan and NDIS price limits before the claim is lodged and payment released. |
| 3 | You get a monthly picture | A statement showing spend against the plan timeline, so overspending is visible early rather than at review. |
Who We Work With
We work with participants, families and carers across the Hills District. What we deliver changes with the person, the household and where they live.
- First-time participants: People on a first plan who want the funding side handled correctly from the beginning rather than fixed later.
- Families supporting adult children: Households moving from years of informal record-keeping to something structured and reviewable.
- Former self-managers: Participants who want the flexibility of plan management without the paperwork of self-management.
- Participants after a hospital stay: People starting several new providers at once, where the billing needs organising quickly.
- Families in the rural north: Participants at Dural, Kenthurst, Glenorie and Annangrove, where distance rather than funding is usually the limiting factor.
- Growth-estate residents: Families at Box Hill, Gables and North Kellyville, where housing has arrived ahead of local services and provider availability is still thin.
Why Participants Choose Allied Healthcare Services Australia
- Registered NDIS provider: An externally audited provider meeting the NDIS Practice Standards, registration number 4050019899.
- Straight answers about capacity: If we cannot cover a day, a time or a suburb, we say so before you commit rather than after.
- Continuity if you move: If you relocate within the area, your supports and the people delivering them stay with you where we can.
- Local knowledge that is actually local: We are honest about travel. In the Hills that means telling you what we can genuinely roster to Kenthurst or Glenorie, rather than promising coverage and cancelling later.
Services That Work Well Alongside This
Plan management sits comfortably next to our other NDIS supports, and using more than one does not complicate your funding.
- NDIS Support Coordination in the Hills District: helps you understand the plan, find providers with real capacity and get supports running.
- Personal Care in the Hills District: provides hands-on assistance with showering, dressing and the daily routine.
Support coordination and plan management are funded under separate line items. You may have one, both or neither – it depends on what is written into your plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you cover the rural parts of the Hills as well as the metro corridor?
We do, but we are straight with you about it. Supports at Kenthurst, Glenorie, Annangrove or Maraylya involve significant travel, so we confirm which days and times we can genuinely cover before anything is agreed.
Is the Hills District the same as The Hills Shire?
Not exactly. The Hills Shire is the council area. The Hills District is the wider local term and also takes in suburbs such as Cherrybrook and Carlingford that sit in neighbouring councils. We cover both, and confirm by address.
What happens if a provider bills the wrong amount?
We hold the payment and get in touch with you before anything is processed. Comparing every invoice against the NDIS Pricing Arrangements is how incorrect claims get caught before they cost you funding.
Can I still choose providers who are not NDIS registered?
Yes. That flexibility is one of the main reasons participants move to plan management, and it widens the pool of local providers available to you.
